Ayurveda is a holistic natural health care system that originated in the ancient Vedic civilization of India around 5000 years go. It means the Science of Life, and teaches that all areas of life impact one’s health and that staying healthy means having a sound mind, body, and spirit. Ayurveda offers a healing system that is powerful and effective, yet gentle and with the least side effects.
Ayurvedic philosophy teaches that each person is born with a specific constitution, a unique combination of physical and psychological characteristics that affect the way we function. Our initial constitution is often disturbed by our lifestyle, diet, job and relationships, all of which have the potential to create physical, emotional or spiritual imbalances, making us more susceptible to disease.
Our initial consultation is dedicated to identifying your unique dosha (mind/body type) as well as the elemental imbalance that has developed over time. We will review your diet, lifestyle, exercise routines, sleep habits and stress levels, and how these might be the cause your current health challenges, both physical and psychological.
With this information we develop your personalized wellness plan to help restore balance and health. This program is designed to be implemented step by step over time and covers nutrition, supportive herbal remedies, daily routines, exercise, yoga, stress and mood management, and much more.
The focus of Ayurvedic care is lifestyle transformation. My role is to support you on your journey back to health through regular follow up sessions to check in on your progress and offer additional recommendations based on your progress and changing needs.
